when it comes to coats, i am a huge fan of good old grey, it's DOES look good with everything you wear - no matter what color it is - and isn't as depressing as black. personally i like coats that fit me well better than loosy ones but i think loosy ones are ~trendy now too! some examples of nice, grey coats i swear i am dying to get:
